A former apprentice of Kathy Simon, Janelle embraced the simple yet sophisticated geometry and structural design principles that are the hallmark of Simon’s Foundational Approach. Since 2001, Janelle has parlayed this essential method into a rich repertoire of cut and color expertise. Her impressive credentials include being a Goldwell Master Colorist and a Deva Inspired Stylist.
In her free time, Janelle trades precision and sophistication for simple snuggles with her two young children. After the kids are asleep, Janelle might catch a little of her favorite love story, Fifty Shades of Gray, or plan her family's next trip to her number one destination, the beach.
I've been going to Janelle since the salon opened and could
not be happier!
The salon has the DevaCurl system and products which I think has helped my hair over the years.
Treat yourself to a facial upstairs and you will not be sorry!
It's always such a pleasure to spend time pampering myself.
Very good products and a wonderful place to go to in
Follow this salon on social media to keep updated on specials, etc.
Everyone I send is always so happy!
An award-winning graduate of the Paul Mitchell School, Felicia is a Deva Inspired Stylist, certified Safe in my Chair specialist and true color enthusiast. Having completed Master of Colorist training at the prestigious Goldwell Academy in New York, she now serves as Fringe’s in-house color consultant. Felicia is as adept at cut as she is at color and can often be found sharing her knowledge as a trainer and mentor for Fringe’s newer talent.
It’s no surprise that Felicia’s creativity extends beyond the salon -- she’s an accomplished DIY’er with her own Etsy site! When it’s time to relax, Felicia’s more likely to choose beer over wine, and her favorite flick is Uptown Girls. Given a choice between vanilla or chocolate, Felicia says, “Why choose?” She’ll take vanilla ice cream and chocolate candy. Smart girl.
I just left from my appointment and I cannot rave enough about how happy I am! I got a Deva Cut by Felicia
and my curls look amazing!
She did a great job at breaking down how to style my hair and gave tips
I can use to refresh my hair the next day.
When I walked in the door she was
so nice and had an amazing personality! Everyone in the salon was
so welcoming and I truly wish I could
take Felicia back to San Diego with me!
Thanks again for making
my hair look beautiful!
Kelsie comes to Fringe by way of Minnesota, where she graduated from the PCI Academy. While her look is soft and pretty and her disposition “Minnesota Kind,” Kelsie has an artsy side that she loves to explore through cuts, colors and styles that are unique and trending. She’s also experienced in special occasion styling and trained in multiple hair extension techniques.
Kelsie’s childhood fulfilled every little girl’s fantasy – she owned a horse, a quarter horse named Molly. These days she’s living the dream with her firefighter husband and a lower-maintenance pet – their rescue dog Hali.
So, I kinda cheat on my regular hairstylist (who happens to be my friend)
I was referred to Fringe (by Robin) and I'm so glad I found this little gem! Kelsie takes the time to listen to what I'd like, offer suggestions and seems methodical about her craft. I always leave happy because she gets it right every time.
The only downside is that I have to come up with excuses when I actually
do see my friend!
The salon itself is very warm and welcoming and the staff is super friendly! The prices are competitive.
Jen is a graduate of Tricoci University of Beauty Culture whose passion for hair was born of struggles with her own sassy curls.
A consummate student, she’s a full-service beauty pro, with advanced training in bridal hair and makeup, as well as barberry (men’s cuts). Most recently, she added Deva Inspired Stylist to her growing toolkit.
Downtime gives Jen the chance to indulge her other passion – movies. She has a particular affinity for action flicks but enjoys all genres, especially when watching includes eating something yummy.
Chocolate qualifies as yummy, so does a margarita, though she’d prefer to drink that somewhere on a hot, sandy beach
I just want to thank Jen for making fall in love with my curls again!
I struggled to find a stylist who knew what they were doing with my curls. Doing some research and booking an appointment with Jen felt like my last resort. She made me feel welcome and took her time with my curls. She gave me some great hair tips and made me feel good walking out of the salon.
My hair has never looked better!
Dilyla -- or Lyla for short -- is a graduate of the Cannella School of Hair Design.
She's a Deva Inspired Stylist with a particular passion for fashion colors and special occasion styling, along with chocolate cake and shopping at Target. When given the chance, this busy mom likes spoiling herself with simple pleasures, like snuggling under a warm blanket and savoring a huge -- yes huge! -- cup of coffee.
Depending on how she’s feeling (and who’s snuggling with her) she might re-watch her favorite movie, Beauty and the Beast, or binge watch her guilty pleasure, Game of Thrones.
Unlike that infamous cutter of hair with the same name (different spelling), this Dilyla will leave you feeling strong and beautiful.
On a whim, I called Fringe today for a walk in appointment. I had read good things about them in a
Glen Ellyn Moms FB page.
Amazingly, I secured an appointment with Lyla at the last moment.
I was greeted warmly, no "salon attitude" here at all. I got a great cut, a FABULOUSLY relaxing shampoo, product info and coupons for return
visits and friends. I have already given one coupon to a friend looking for a new salon for a cool dye job.
All in all, a wonderful experience with everyone I met today.
I will definitely be back!
Please welcome our fresh, new talent, Nicolette Anselmini. Nicolette comes to Fringe from the Paul Mitchell School, where her skill and commitment earned her a three-day work intensive at Caper 2017 in Orlando; there she learned from top industry experts about on-trend cut and color. Nicolette is is a natural student who's constantly expanding her skillset. Most recently, she added Deva Inspired Stylist to her ever-expanding resume.
Before Paul Mitchell, this Chicago sports fan helped create magic moments for many as a graduate of the Disney College Program. These days, Nicolette makes magic behind the chair and, whenever she has a little free time, in the kitchen.
Just like her favorite sitcom 'The Office,' Nicolette's life can sometimes be compared to a chaotic comedy. But she's able to seize each day with the loving support of her boyfriend and the happy appreciation of her growing list of clients.
A high achiever at the Paul Mitchell School, McKenzie earned top honors in cut, color and texture. Her post-graduate credentials include being a certified curly hair expert via the renowned DevaCut system.
McKenzie's a morning person who loves going to the movies and cuddling with Zeus, her hairless cat (not her doing, he was bred that way).
While McKenzie might leave the night-time prowling to Zeus, she takes a few feline cues when she visits her favorite destination -- L.A. There she hunts for celebrities and cat-naps by the sea. But McKenzie won’t ever spot her favorite movie heroine noshing at the Chateau Marmont or catching rays on Malibu beach. She'll just have to be satisfied with seeing Ariel on screen.
Shout out to McKenzie
who fixed my hair!
U are the best and
I owe you my life!
Amanda is a veteran stylist whose specialties include updos, balayage, the DevaCut system for curly hair and trendy cuts for men, like fades.
Her passion for hair is no surprise since Amanda grew up surrounded by beauty professionals. She was so certain of her career path that she graduated high school as a certified stylist.
Amanda’s happy place is Monterey, California. In between trips to the West Coast she indulges herself by shopping, because she loves trying new products and sporting fresh styles.
But Amanda’s more practical than extravagant. If given a $5,000 shopping spree, she’d head straight for Sam’s Club. Well, maybe she'd save some of that windfall for her next excursion to Monterey.
Go to Fringe and ask for Amanda! You will NOT be disappointed trust me!!
She gave me just a little trim to add some texture to my already short hair, and it changed my haircut more than I thought it could in such a nice way!
Everybody was so friendly and welcoming, the entire ambiance was so relaxing and soothing as well!
Sarah is a graduate of Mario Tricoci and an alumna of ABC7’s Windy City Live, where she was a hair and makeup specialist for on-screen talent. She’s a versatile professional offering a full menu of services, including fashion colors, on-trend cuts, updos and special occasion makeup. Sarah is also Pintura certified through the Deva System, making her a curly hair highlight expert. Her many talents are on display on Instagram at @sardidmyhair.
Sarah’s favorite destination is Nashville, where she indulges in live music, zesty BBQ and frosty brews. But chilling at home with friends and family is fine too. So is playing with her adorable, little dog, a Morky named Arlie.
The second best thing a client can say to Sarah is, “Do whatever you think would look great.” What’s the best thing she’s heard? “Thank you for making me feel beautiful.”
Say hi to Sophie, a new talent at Fringe who’s hungry to learn and eager to and please. A graduate of Pivot Point Academy, she started earning her stripes as the go-to gal for updos in high school. Sophie’s signature skill is braiding. And we don’t mean your average pigtails; we’re talking hair sculpture, updos extraordinaire, amazing twists and weaves. Check it out on Instagram @styles.bysoph.
Sophie’s favorite pastimes include curling up with a good book or kicking back with her guitar. When adventure calls, it speaks in Italian, luring Sophie to her ancestral home of Rome. There, she soaks in beauty and history during visits to family, who fill her full with love and fabulous local cuisine. Eccellente!
Zee is a rising talent at Fringe, who’s soaking up tricks of the trade under the expert tutelage of Felecia. A graduate of Pivot Point Academy, Zee has known her calling since high school, when she jump-started her hair and makeup career through vocational training.
Downtime often finds Zee cuddling with Winston, her rescue cat, while binge watching her favorite shows. Or, she might indulge her creative genius by drawing or doing makeup. Nature also holds allure for Zee, who enjoys reconnecting with her wild side by taking a strenuous hike or just a nice long walk.
Michelle is not only an accomplished and award-winning stylist, she is the proud owner of Fringe A Boutique Salon.
